On Friday, May 30 at approximately 6 p.m., there was a report of a house filled with smoke by the homeowner when he arrived home to his residence on Timberneck Drive in Owings. The homeowner advised authorities that no one was in the house, except some family pets.
Once units arrived on the scene they found a working house fire.
It is believed that all pets were found and are okay. Authorities reported there was one firefighter who had to be treated and transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital.
The subdivision at Timberneck was closed to all homeowner until 8 p.m. and they could only get access by walking to their home.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is still on the scene doing an investigation with a few fire units as of 8:40 pm. All units subsequently cleared the fire grounds by 9 p.m.
