An accidental fire on Saturday, Feb. 12 in the 2000 block of Sprout Lane in Lusby resulted in four volunteer firefighters being treated for injuries at Calvert Memorial Hospital. Three firefighters from Solomon’s Volunteer Fire Department were transported and treated for thermal injuries to their hands, faces, and backs. Another firefighter from the St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department received a fractured ankle. All injuries are considered to be non-life threatening.
The fire was determined to have originated in the garage and was the result of a vehicle’s fuel injection system igniting while being repaired.
Approximately 65 firefighters from Solomon’s, Prince Frederick, Bay District and St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the one alarm fire.
The fire caused an estimated $250,000.00 dollars in damage to
