Solomons Island fireworks are postponed until July 8.
“With the forecast calling for 80 percent chance of rain Monday the 4th and Tuesday the 5th, our scheduled rain date, we have decided to push the show until Friday the 8th,” Solomons Business Association President Lauren Simpson said.
She said the 9th will serve as a last chance rain date.
“While we understand the inconvenience this may have caused,” she said. “Our best chance to have the show go off was pushing until next weekend.”
She said the association does not prefer to reschedule because they dislike inconveniencing the public.
She added the association pays $15,000 for fireworks whether they get to display them or not.
