On Tuesday, Feb. 22 at approximately 8:25 a.m., volunteer fire departments from Leonardtown, Mechanicsville, Seventh District, Hollywood and Bay District responded to what was reported as a working house fire at 41206 Friendship Court in Oakville. When units arrived on the scene, smoke was seen eminating from one side of the structure.
Firefighters entered the area and discovered a small fire working in the basement. Other units made entry into the first floor of the structure and proceded to knock down any hot spots. The fire was deemed under control by 8:51 a.m. The state fire marshall was requested and the fire is under investigation at this time.
