CALVERT COUNTY, Md. – The Calvert County Department of Public Safety, Emergency Management Division, informs citizens that help is available for residents in need of assistance for cleanup and repairs following the Chesapeake Bay tidal flooding event Oct. 28-30, 2021. Crisis Cleanup, in partnership with Maryland Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster and Maryland Department of Emergency Management, have developed a process for residents to request assistance with unmet needs and other residential damages.

Local jurisdictions and impacted residents can call 410-449-5415 to request assistance.ย  This hotline will remain open through Nov. 19, 2021. The Crisis Cleanup team will work to connect those in need to the appropriate resources, such as volunteers from local relief organizations, community groups, and faith communities who may be able to assist with:

  • “Mucking and gutting” of flooded houses
  • Limited removal of fallen trees
  • Drywall, flooring, and appliance removal
  • Tarping roofs
  • Mold remediation
  • Minor repairs

All services are free, but services may not be guaranteed due to the level of need.
