North Beach Councilman-elect Mickey Hummel and Mayor Mark Frazer

North Beach, MD โ€“ Mark Frazer will serve his fourth term as mayor of North Beach. Frazer defeated Councilman Gregg Dotson by 30 votes in the 2014 mayoral race. The election was held Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the North Beach Town Hall.

The five incumbent councilmembers seeking reelection were all successful. The next council will include a father-and-son blocโ€”veteran councilman Randy Hummel and Councilman-elect Mickey Hummel. They both received the same number of votesโ€”250.

The top vote-getter in the council race was Mike Benton, followed by Ken Wilcox, Greg McNeill, the Hummels and Gwen Schiada. Receiving 235 votes but trailing Schiada by 14 for the final spot on the council was Kathy Bacon. The remaining candidates finished in the following orderโ€”Diane Burr, Joshua Brown, Anthony Klemens, Thomas Crockett and Julius Lubbes.

The swearing-in ceremony for the mayor and council is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14, 8 p.m. at the North Beach Town Hall.
