Around 12:30 A.M. on May 29, 2011, residents in the area of Mahony Way in Lexington Park reported hearing gunshots in the area. Police responded to the area as the dispatch center continued to receive multiple calls related to the the incident. Upon arrival, police interviewed numerous subjects in the area in addition to searching the area with no findings of any injuries. During this initial investigation, two subjects were placed in custody. Police also found several items in the area including a shell casing believed to be from a long barrel gun, a sword, and a baseball bat. Residents in the area were noted as stating that they believe it is a continuation of gang related violence that has been ongoing in the area.
