WALDORF, Md. – The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a garage fire that caused $240,000 of damage during the early hours of Friday, March 30.ย 

At 3:25 a.m., crews responded to the 5000 block of Luben Road of Waldorf for the report of a structure fire. Forty-eight fire fighters led by the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene and discovered a detached garage with flames showing. Units battled the fire and had the scene under control in approximately 20 minutes.ย 

Investigation revealed that the occupants of the home were awakened by a “popping” noise and noticed smoke coming from the garage. The family was not displaced by the fire and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.ย
