On June 29 at approximately 11:30 a.m., TheBAYNET.com learned that Chancellor’s Run Road between Buck Hewitt and Route 235 is in the process of being shut downย by authoritiesย due to a six inch gas main leak.

Washington Gas has been called and is heading toward the scene from Prince George’s County. Estimates are that the leaking main gas line will take from between two and half to three hours at a minimum to repair after Washington Gas arrives. Their arrival is expected within the hour.

Authorities are attempting to sort through traffic tie-ups in an effort to close the road at this time. Motorists are cautioned to seek alternate routes and to avoid the area.
