On August 28, Sheriff’s Office Deputy Patrick Handy responded to the reported domestic disturbance at a Lexington Park home.
Upon arrival he learned that the 14 year old girl had an altercation with her 15 year old sibling. The argument was over the use of a computer.
The 14 year old obtained a meat cleaver from the kitchen and placed it to the neck of the older sibling, threatening to “kill” them. The family was able to disarm the girl.
Deputy Handy recovered the knife and placed the juvenile under arrest. Contact was made with the Department of Juvenile Services and the girl was detained pending a hearing before the Juvenile Court.
