St. Mary’s County Government announced that its Form of Government Task Force will meeting Wednesdays on May 23, May 30, and June 6 at 2:30 p.m., in Room 14 of the St. Mary’s County Governmental Center, in Leonardtown.
The meeting will be aired live and rebroadcast on St. Mary’s County Government Channel 95.
The task force will be considering if and how the county should change its form of government, from the commissioner form to Code Home Rule or another type.
The state recently allowed Charles County government to switch from the commisisoner form to Code Home Rule and granted the Charles commissioners additional legislative powers.
