Annapolis, MD – Former Maryland Congressman and Prince George’s County Executive Lawrence Hogan Sr. died Thursday evening, April 20. Hogan Sr.’s death was confirmed by a spokesman for Maryland Governor Larry Hogan Jr.ย
The elder Hogan suffered a massive stroke Saturday, April 15.
Larry Hogan Sr. was elected to Congress, representing Maryland’s Fifth District, in 1968. In 1974 he ran unsuccessfully for governor. In the late 1970s he became Prince George’s County executive. He ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in 1982.
“He taught me more about integrity in one day than most men learn in a lifetime and I am so proud to be his son,” said Hogan of his father during his 2015 inaugural address.
On Saturday, April 15, 2017, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s father; Larry Hogan Sr., suffered a major stroke and his health has been declining, the governor’s office says.ย
