Annapolis, MD – Maryland Governor Larry Hogan posted on his Facebook page the news about his first grandson’s birth in St. Mary’s County earlier this month.

“The First Lady and I are excited to announce the birth of our first grandson, Cam Sterling. Our daughter Jaymi and son-in-law Ben are going to be wonderful parents. Cam had an eventful first week. He was born Monday morning [Jan. 23] in St. Mary’s County, but was rushed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore where he spent the week.

“He is now doing great, and is being discharged and is finally heading home with his Mom and Dad! I want to thank the incredible team of doctors and nurses and staff at UMMS, as well as MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, and the Maryland Regional Neonatal Transport team. We are very grateful for the quick thinking and actions that all of these medical professionals exercised in diagnosing and treating our grandson.

“We truly appreciate all the thoughts and prayers, and we are overjoyed with this healthy and happy addition to our family.”
