Firefighters in St. Mary’s County had a busy Sunday evening as they battled a 2 alarm house fire in California.
The fire broke out around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 7 in the 45500 Block of Boyne Court in the Hickory Hillsย neighborhood. Initial reportsย indicated two homes were on fireย and heavy fire could be seen approaching the scene.
As crews arrived on the scene they discovered that a BBQ grill on the back porch of one home had exploded.
No injuries were reported. Firefightersย conducted aย search for a missing cat, no word on whether the cat was found.
The neighboring home did suffer some minor damage to the siding of the home as well as a broken window.
The Maryland State Fire Marshall was not needed at the scene due to the fire being accidental in nature.
