Heather M. Garner
Mechanicsville, MD— On April 22, St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Kerns responded to WaWa located at Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville for a reported CDS (controlled dangerous substance) violation involving a female in the women’s room.
When Kerns arrived on the scene he was advised by a witness that a female was in the bathroom stall possibly shooting up heroin.
The witness informed,” she was in the bathroom and observed a lighter and a metal spoon laying on the floor inside the stall where the female was, and the female kept saying ‘ow ow ow (as if in pain),'” according to charging documents.
Kerns knocked on the door, and the defendant stated, “you can clearly see someone is in here (bathroom stall),” according to charging documents.
The female ruffled a plastic bag and the toilet then flushed after she was done moving around. After everything settled Kerns heard the female unzip something, she then unlocked the door and opened it then started yelling that she “was half naked and was bleeding,” according to charging documents.
Kerns searched two jackets that were recovered in the bathroom stall. Kerns located a straw with white powder residue inside of it. Kerns then spoke to the witness who stated the toilets are very powerful and that a metal spoon or syringe could very quickly go down the toilet.
The defendant was identified as Heather M. Garner, 28 of Hollywood. Garner advised she was in the bathroom saying ‘ow ow ow’ because she was bleeding. Kerns asked Garner what was the white powder in the straw, and Garner stated Xanax.
Garner was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’ Office, where she was charged with CDS possession not marijuana, and CDS possession of paraphernalia.
Garner has a scheduled hearing set for July 27 in district Court. Garner faces a maximum jail sentence of four years and/or a maximum fine of $25,500.
