Lexington Park, MD – There will be a new individual representing Calvert Countyโ€™s Second Election District on the board of county commissioners toward the end of this year. The Democrat running in the race is Susie Hance-Wells, a leader in Calvertโ€™s agriculture community. Hance-Wells is a county native and a graduate of the University of Delaware. In the early 1980s she married Walter Wells. They have three children and eight grandchildren. She began operating her familyโ€™s farmโ€”which has been in operation for several generationsโ€”in 1983.

Hance-Wells currently serves on the Calvert County Board of Appeals. Among the agriculture entities Hance-Wells has served on is the Calvert County Chapter of the Maryland Farm Bureau.

Preserving Calvert Countyโ€™s rural character is one of Hance-Wellsโ€™ top priorities as commissioner if she wins the Second Election District race Nov. 6.

Recently, Hance-Wells visited the offices and studio of TheBayNet.com to discuss her candidacy. Her positions on a variety of issues are included on the video.
