UPPER MARLBORO, MD โ€“ Maryland State Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that killed one person and injured another early Sunday morning in Prince Georgeโ€™s County.

Shortly after 1:45 a.m. Sunday morning, Oct. 28, a trooper from the Forestville Barrack responded to a crash in the area of southbound Maryland Route 202 at Chelsea Lane in Upper Marlboro. Upon his arrival, he witnessed a Mercedes that had collided head-on with a Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The driver of the Mercedes, a male, was declared deceased at the scene. The victimโ€™s identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the truck, a male, was transported by ambulance to University of Maryland Prince Georgeโ€™s Hospital Center for treatment of his injuries.

The Maryland State Police CRASH Team responded to investigate the cause of the crash. Prince Georgeโ€™s Fire and EMS also responded to the scene to assist with the victims and to extinguish the fire of the Mercedes. Maryland Department of Transportation SHA personnel provided assistance with traffic and detours.

The investigation continues.
