UPDATED ADVISORIES FOR MONDAY MORNING, JUNE 4

Prince Frederick, MD โ€“ As of early Monday morning, June 4, these roads that were closed Sunday due to flooding have been reopened.

St. Maryโ€™s County – Asher Road, Medleys Neck Road and River Road.

Charles County โ€“ Turkey Hill Road, Poplar Hill Road in the area of Breconridge Drive and Bumpy Oak Road near the Hiker Biker Trail.

Prince Frederick, MD –ย Chesapeake Avenue and Bay Avenue between 3rd and 5th Street in North Beach is open. Water is still high and motorists should use caution.

Prince Frederick, MD – At 9 p.m. the Calvert County Sheriff’s office advisedย motorists to use caution in the area of Warren Drive in Huntingtown. There is one lane open to traffic due to partial road failure.

Charles County authorities also advised at 9 p.m. thatย Poplar Hill Road is closed in the area of Breconridge Drive due to wires down across the road. Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative and the Charles County Sheriff’s Office are on the scene. Use an alternate route.

Prince Frederick, MD โ€“ The unrelenting rains that continue to fall throughout the region have created several driving hazards Sunday, June 3. Authorities in Southern Maryland have issued numerous advisories throughout the day. The bulletins have included the report of sinkhole in Lusby.

Here is a recap of advisories.

In Charles County, Bumpy Oak Road near the Hiker Biker Trail and also Turkey Hill Road near Spaulding Drive both closed due to high water/flooding.ย Fenwick Road in the area of New Place is closed due to flooding.

In St. Maryโ€™s County, Asher Road between Tin Tip School Road and Cox Drive is washed out and being repaired. Use caution. State highway and sheriffโ€™s deputies are on the scene. Motorists should plan and alternate route. Other roads and intersections currently impacted include: Medleyโ€™s Neck Road, between Richey Road and Lacis Way; Point Lookout Road, between Villa Road and Orchard Lane; River Road, between Tall Timber Road and Herring Creek Road; Hollywood Road, between James Richael Lane and Leonards Grant Parkway; Asher Road, between Cox Road and Dogwood Lane. Drivers are asked to use caution when venturing out on the county roadways.

In Calvert County, a tree is down across the roadway in the area of Sixes Road and Pasture Place in Prince Frederick. Motorists should expect delays. Chesapeake and Bay avenues between 3rd/5th Street in North Beach are closed due to high water. High water is reported on Route 4 North of the Calvert/Anne Arundel line. Use caution traveling.

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a flood watch for portions of Maryland, The District of Columbia, and northern Virginia, including Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s until 11 p.m. EDT this evening
