Waldorf, MD— On Feb.6, Charles County Sheriff’s Officer ย S. Hillmanย was pulling into the parking lot of the 7-Eleven located at 325 Smallwood Drive, in Waldorf, when he recognized a subject as being wanted by the Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office.

“The subject was getting into a Mitsubishi Eclipse, I (Hillman) walked up to the vehicle and got the subject out of the vehicle,” Hillman stated in court documents. “The vehicle was occupied by two other subjects, one of which is Kathryn Jane Callahan, 28 of Swan Point.ย 

“A K-9 Officer responded to the scene and conducted a K-9 scan of the vehicle. K-9 Officer Clevenger stated his dog positively alerted on the vehicle for the presence of narcotics,” according to charging documents.ย 

Callahan was searched by Officer Smith, “who located a small clear glassine baggie, containing suspected Heroin residue, as well as another clear baggie on the left side of the Callahanโ€™s bra. A used needle was located by Officer Smith in Callahanโ€™s purse,” according to charging documents.

While searching the vehicle, police discovered a used glass pipe smoking device in a jacket pocket to the rear of the driver’s seat where Callahan was sitting.

Callahan was charged with two counts of CDS possession not marijuana and four counts of CDS possession of paraphernalia. Callahan has a scheduled court date of March 29 at the Charles County District Court.ย 

Callahan faces a maximum jail sentence of eight years and or a maximum fine of $52,000.ย
