Yesterday around 1 p.m., TFC M. Moore was working a stationary radar in Hollywood when he observed a blue Dodge Dakota traveling 57 mph in a posted 45 mph zone.
TFC Moore pursued the vehicle in attempt to pull the violator over. The Dakota failed to stop and tried to speed away. The pursuit continued on Mervell Dean Road until the violator made a left onto Reeder Sanders Lane and proceeded to a private residence.
TFC Moore purused the vehicle across the front yard where the suspect exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.
Joseph Patrick Brooks, Jr., 37 of Hollywood, was apprehended and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He is being held pending a bond review and is charged with driving with a suspended and revoked license, fleeing and alluding an officer and other traffic related charges.
