Waldorf, MD ย –ย State investigators reported Tuesday, May 31 that a four-door Honda Accord that was found burning in Charles County over the Memorial Day weekend was deliberately set ablaze.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office, the incident occurred Saturday morning, May 28 shortly after 2 a.m. at Billingsley Road and Bensville Road in Waldorf.
โA passerby found the burning vehicle and called 911,โ a deputy fire marshalโs report stated. โUpon the arrival of emergency services, it was discovered no one was inside the car.โ
The blaze originated in the vehicleโs passenger compartment. Four firefighters were dispatched to the one-alarm fire and had the flames under control in 10 minutes. No one was injured.
Authorities have identified the owner of the Honda as Terrenda Justine Washington. Damage is estimated at $2,000.
