At approximately 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan 20, volunteer firefighters from Calvert County were requested to assist Anne Arundel firefighters for a blaze at 5880 Little Road in Lothian. Firefighters from Dunkirk and North Beach Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene.
During the firefight, it was reported that two firefighters were injured. One believed to be from Dunkirk VFD was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital and the other flown out on Trooper 7.
According to witnesses, the second floor of the house collapsed causing the injuries. That witness also stated that the house was completely destroyed despite the three alarm emergency responders best efforts.
