Waldorf, MD –ย A house fire in Charles County that was reported early Tuesday evening, March 29 remains under investigation by state authorities. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the blaze caused heavy damage to the two-story, wood-frame home on Knollwood Court in Waldorf. A neighbor discovered and reported the fire shortly after 7 p.m.

โ€œThe fire was discovered in advanced stages as no one was home,โ€ a Fire Marshalโ€™s report stated. โ€œThe American Red Cross is assisting the occupants.โ€

Fifty-one firefighters were dispatched to the scene and brought the flames under control in 90 minutes. Damage to the structure and contents is estimated at $400,000.

The homeowners are identified as Dan and Vickie Williams. A tenant was identified by state officials as Ivetter Marucci.
