Waldorf, MD –ย A house fire in Charles County that was reported early Tuesday evening, March 29 remains under investigation by state authorities. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office, the blaze caused heavy damage to the two-story, wood-frame home on Knollwood Court in Waldorf. A neighbor discovered and reported the fire shortly after 7 p.m.
โThe fire was discovered in advanced stages as no one was home,โ a Fire Marshalโs report stated. โThe American Red Cross is assisting the occupants.โ
Fifty-one firefighters were dispatched to the scene and brought the flames under control in 90 minutes. Damage to the structure and contents is estimated at $400,000.
The homeowners are identified as Dan and Vickie Williams. A tenant was identified by state officials as Ivetter Marucci.
