EDITOR’S NOTE: We have since been notified that there was another family who lost all their belongings to the same fire. They also have a GoFundMe set up, seeking similar replacement items, as they too are starting from scratch.

The details of their page can be found HERE

COLTONS POINT, Md. — A caring sister, Danielle Skidmore, has created a GoFundMe page for her brother and his family, who lost their home to a fire on May 15.

Some may recall that at approximately 4:43 a.m. that day, first responders were alerted to a single-story house fire in Coltons Point that caused significant damage. Skidmoreโ€™s brother, his girlfriend, and their 9-month-old daughter made it out of the fire safely, but all of their belongings were destroyed.ย

The fundraiser has a goal of $5,000 and is currently over a quarter of the way there. The family is also seeking home essentials and certain baby products as they are getting resituated.

โ€œThey are basically starting over,โ€ Skidmore wrote. โ€œIโ€™m creating this page hoping we can help them as much as possible.โ€

She hopes that the page spreads to more people so that her brotherโ€™s family can resume life without the burden the fire has caused.

Skidmore added, โ€œWe thank everyone that donated here, via cashapps, or donated clothes and essentials! A lot of people have reached out and as of now, I think we are set on baby clothes. We are also waiting to establish a new permanent living space before accepting furniture.โ€
