WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement after holding a virtual meeting with the new Maryland State Superintendent of Schools, Mohammed Choudhury:
“It was a pleasure meeting with the new Maryland State Superintendent of Schools, Mohammed Choudhury, today and discuss our priorities for the school year ahead,” said Congressman Hoyer. “I was glad to hear of Superintendent Choudhury’s determination and plans to make sure our students and teachers can return to school safely this Fall, especially given the increasing risk of the Delta variant. I am also confident in the Superintendent’s ability to implement once-in-a-generation investments into our public schools though The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future plan, which became law this year, and will make needed enhancements to our public school systems.”
