The Huntingtown Hurricanes and McDonough Rams continue their hot play at the right time of the season moving forward to the Maryland State Semi-Finals to be held Friday Night Nov. 26, 2010.

In the 3-A South Finals. Huntingtown scored 32 unanswered second quarter points against Friendly en route to their 52-12 victory. Andrew Bose had another strong game on both sides of the ball playing tough at linebacker and dominating the game at running back scoring four TD’s and rolling up 168 yards rushing on 16 carries. Bose started the scoring with a 40 yard TD run and after Friendly QB Davon Dorsey scored on an eight-yard QB keeper, Bose broke the game open with three straight rushing TD’s (4, 1, and 8 yards). Gabe Stewart helped the Hurricanes cause with 84 yards rushing including a 46 yard TD in the third quarter. Davonte Fletcher finished the scoring with a 3 yard TD run. Huntingtown only had to throw the ball four times with QB Justin Bittner completing two including a 44 yard TD pass to Nick Ersoy.

Huntingtown has the opportunity to advance to their second consecutive State Finals game with a win at Franklin (10-1) in the semi final game. The winner would face the winner of Wilde Lake at Damascus at M and T Bank Stadium in Baltimore Thursday December 2, 2010. Friendly finished their season at 9-3.

The McDonough Rams(10-1) played at home and knocked off Hammond (10-2) to advance to the state semis and will head out to play Queen Annes County (10-1).Star QB Aquil Michaux started the scoring with a 31 yard TD run as the Rams Pistol Spread offense was running very smoothly. Devon Paye took the ensuing kickoff 95 yards bring Hammond within one point after a missed extra point. Justin Brooks scored on a 7 yard run for McDonough, making the score 14-6 at the half. Michaux found Devante Gray open deep for a 70 yard TD strike. Hammond QB Josh Whaley kept the game close with his 9 yard pass TD to Charles Holley.

Georget Leonard banged home a three yard TD run abut, Hammond kept battling till the very end, adding an eight yard TD pass from Whaley to Dionte Jones. The McDonough rushing defense was strong allowing Hammond only 25 yards on the ground. The winner of the McDonough/Queen Annes game will face the winner of the Eastern Tech at Middletown game for the 2-A State Championship in Baltimore on Saturday Decamber 4, 2010 at 12 Noon.
