ย At 3:33 p.m. Friday, volunteer firefighters were dispatched to a raging house fire on Secretariate Drive in Hollywood.
ย Firefighters arrived to find a large house fully engulfed, with flames coming through the roof.
ย All occupants were reported to have escaped. Later a Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad crew checked out three occupants, who refused further treatment.
ย By 4:05 p.m., firefighters knocked down remaining flames raging in the attic, but not before a first floor collapsed into the basement. Volunteer firefighters on the scene included companies from Hollywood, Leonardtown and Bay District.
ย The fire was declared under control, but units remained on the scene wetting down hot spots and overhauling the structure for more than three hours. The Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office was also dispatched to the scene.
ย Hollywood crews were called back to the scene at 7:30 p.m., less than an hour after leaving, when the front porch area reportedly re-ignited.
