Plungers will take a quick dip, splash or swim in the frigid Chesapeake Bay. Afterward plungers enjoy hot cocoa and roasted marshmallows around a warm bonfire. This event is free, but participants who choose to pay the $25 registration fee will receive a certificate and T-shirt. Net proceeds go to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Visit online to preregister.

The Aqua-thon is a family-friendly competition that consists of three 10-minute water events: running in shallow water, biking on a noodle in deep water and swimming. Participants must be older than 12 and able to swim. Prizes will be awarded.

Learn about what life was like in Maryland in the 1950s. Take a look at the jukebox in the collection, learn a few easy vintage dance steps including The Mashed Potato, The Twist and The Pony and then join in on a fun sock hop to jukebox songs from the 1950s. This event is recommended for children ages 3 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
