State and local authorities are investigating the deliberate destruction by fire of a vehicle Sunday, July 7. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. at a location on Stinnett Road in Huntingtown.
No injuries were reported and the total loss of the vehicle, a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, is estimated at $10,000.
“The incendiary fire began in the interior and the entire vehicle was destroyed,” stated Dfm. Melissa Bean.
The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation. No fire departments were dispatched as the blaze had burned itself out prior to being detected.
