JET SKI DEATH:
Tuesday evening, Charles County Sheriffโs officers responded to a call in Chapel Point State Park in Port Tobacco after a man reportedly fell from a jet ski and failed to resurface. The Charles County Dive and Rescue Team along with members of the Nanjemoy and Potomac Heights volunteer fire departments and the Department of Natural Resources initiated a search. The victim, Stephen Raymond Barnes, Sr., 37, of Bryans Road, was located approximately 60 yards from the shoreline and pronounced dead.
Witnesses said the victim fell from the jet ski while making a sharp turn. He was not wearing a life vest. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy will be performed. Detective C. Shankster is investigating.
