The Board of County Commissioners for St. Mary’s County and the Southern Maryland Delegation will hold a joint public meeting on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chesapeake Building Meeting Room in Leonardtown to present the legislative proposals received from various sources for inclusion in the 2011 Legislative Package of St. Mary’s County and to receive public comment. All citizens are encouraged to participate. To date, the following legislative proposals have been received:
1. To add a Correctional Officer’s Bill of Rights for St. Mary’s County.
2. To clarify that members and employees of the St. Mary’s County Metropolitan Commission are subject to the provisions of the St. Mary’s County Public Ethics Ordinance.
3. To amend Chapter 113 of the Public Local Laws; to address the recommendations in the Final Report of the Metropolitan Commission Task Force dated June, 2010; to correct typographical errors, inconsistencies and ambiguities resulting from the Commission’s rate restructuring in October, 2007 and to delete archaic sections and correct long-standing general inaccuracies within the Code.
