anthony wayne thamesLa Plata, MD – A Waldorf man will be sentenced in November after Charles County Circuit Court Judge H. James West ordered his bond revoked for violating terms of his probation.

Anthony Wayne Thames, 46 of Waldorf, faces 10 years of backup time.

Charles County Assistant States Attorney Katrine Bakhtiary called Laurie Brown of Waldorf, Thamesโ€™ former girlfriend, to testify Monday, Oct. 3.

Brown said that after Thames was originally released for a second-degree assault charge in late April, he moved back into her residence.

Toward the end of May, she said she noted changed in his behavior.

โ€œI knew he was back on drugs,โ€ Brown said.

In June, she asked him to move out, Brown explained. On June 18, he texted her, saying he needed to get his belongings.

A day later, Brown said she attended a cookout, but when she returned to her apartment, she found her front door barricaded shut.

She said Thames wouldnโ€™t answer the door and she discovered he had removed her glass sliding door in the rear of the house to gain entrance.

โ€œHe just broke in,โ€ she testified. โ€œHe said, โ€˜You should have known better than to lock me out of the house.โ€™ โ€

She said he flicked his cigarette ashes on the floor.

โ€œHe had his fist balled up in my face,โ€ she said. โ€œHe said he was going to slit my throat and cut off my head.โ€

She said she went to the court commissioner and filed paperwork before going to stay with a friend for five days. When she went back to her residence, she found the door barricaded again, and discovered Thames had โ€œtrashedโ€ her son Travisโ€™ room and had urinated on her bed.

After she went to district court and testified against him, she went to leave the courthouse and spotted his Chevy Tahoe in the parking lot.

โ€œHe started yelling at me, saying, โ€˜you shouldnโ€™t have done that bitch, youโ€™ll be sorry,โ€™ โ€ Brown stated.

Because he had a jury waiting to be chosen, West suspended proceedings until Wednesday, Oct. 5, when he found Thames in violation of his probation and revoked his bond.

He will be sentenced Nov. 30.
