Leonardtown MD— On June 24, a St. Mary’s County Circuit Court jury found Tyreke D. Butler, 25 of Lexington Park, guilty of the following charges: attempted first-murder degree of Robert R. Blake, first-degree assault of Robert R. Blake, use of a firearm to commit a felony, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, and attempted conspiracy to induce testimony.

Butler was found not guilty of conspiracy to commit first-degree assault.

Butler was originally arrested last year after a witness observed him dragging another male into the wood line on Far Cry Road in Lexington Park, Maryland. According to the witness, “he could hear the male yelling, ‘please don’t kill me’ as he was on the ground,” according to charging documents.

Sentencing will take place in six to eight weeks after a pre-sentencing investigation was ordered. Butlerย had his bond revoked. The trial was presided over by Judge David Densford.
