Rebecca Olsen, 17, of Brandywine was recognized recently by Kohlโ€™s Department Storesโ€™ Kohlโ€™s Cares Scholarship Program as one of more than 2,300 young volunteers nationwide who have made a positive impact in their communities through volunteerism.

Forty-five youth from Maryland, including Olsen, will each receive a $50 gift card and recognition certificate from Kohlโ€™s to honor their community service efforts.

Since the Kohlโ€™s Cares Scholarship Program began in 2001, Kohlโ€™s has recognized more than 17,000 kids with more thanย ย $3.4 million in scholarships and prizes.
