On June 24, Deputy S. Ruest responded to the Bay District Fire Department for an assault.
The victim of the assault was at the fire department being treated for an injury to his forehead. Investigation revealed Cora Elizabeth Thomas, 62 of Owings, was engaged in a verbal altercation, which became physical when Thomas struck the victim in the arm and head with a baseball bat.
Thomas, who was also at the firehouse, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
