At 10:05 p.m. June 24, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 9800 block of Diggs Road in Faulkner for the report of an assault.
Investigation revealed a 27-year-old Faulkner man was arguing with his landlord, John Hancock, Jr., 54, of Faulkner, when Hancock brandished a flare gun, pointed it at the victim’s head and threatened to shoot him.
Hancock was arrested without incident and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, second-degree assault and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
He was transported to the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. Officer J. Foster investigated.
