The island is open but there is a detour. It will be from Woodburn Ln to Alexander St.

The Island will be closed at least two more hours.
Original Report:
A large gas leak has been reported on Solomons Island at the Welcome Center on Rt 2 at Alexander Ln.
A 6 in gas line was struck.
Road closures and evacuations in this area are currently in progress.
No one is currently being allowed on the island at this time due to the leak.
