At 1:47 a.m. Feb. 19, Trooper Stein of the Prince Frederick barrack stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on 17th Street in Chesapeake Beach.

As the operator, Shawn Michael Thomas, 23, of Chesapeake Beach, exited the vehicle, the trooper observed two small baggies of suspected cocaine.

After placing Thomas under arrest, a search was conducted on the passenger, Nigel Francis Huston, 37, of Chesapeake Beach, and the vehicle.

Huston was found to have suspected cocaine, Oxycodone, and a CDS smoking device on his person. An additional CDS smoking device was recovered from the vehicle.

Both men were charged with possession of cocaine, Oxycodone, and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, they were incarcerated in the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
