John Lee Goddard, who is 21 years old and resides in La Plata, was traveling south-bound on Route 5, approaching approached Hanover Drive in Leonardtown when he crossed the center line and struck a 2004 Ford pickup operated by James Walter Norris Jr. James Norris, who is 41 years old and lives in Leonardtown, was traveling north bound on Maryland Route 5 from the intersection of Medley’s Neck road when his vehicle was struck.

John Goddard was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital via ambulance, where he succumbed to his injuries at 6:50 am.

James Norris was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma were he is listed in critical condition.
