The Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse, Inc. (CAASA) announces the return of the “Let’s Talk” series beginning in January 2020.

The first workshop, “Let’s Talk” Starting a Support Group,ย  will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Calvert Library, Meeting Room 2, 850 Costley Way, Prince Frederick. Presenter, Stephanie Newman, MS, LCPC, LCADC, NCC, Duel Diagnosis Counselor, Calvert Behavioral Health Services, will facilitate the evening’s discussion. Learn how to come together to support one another in dealing with an issue. Questions, such as, who should lead the meeting, how often should we meet and where do we meet are just a few to be addressed.

The second workshop, “Let’s Talk” Mental Health and Your Teen: What’s the Connectionย  to Substance Use?,ย  will be held on Tuesday, February 11th, from 6 to 8 p.m., Calvert Library, Meeting Room 2, 850 Costley Way, Prince Frederick. The workshop will be led by Christina Spangler, Southern Maryland Regional Supervisor, Maryland Coalition of Families. Being a teenager can be difficult. Stress, depression and anxiety are just a few of the mental health issues facing teens. Come learn about the importance of mental health in a child’s development and signs that a child is struggling.

These are FREE event with refreshments provided. Due to limited seating, reservations are required.
