WALDORF, Md. – On July 21, at approximately 2:15 p.m., fire and rescue personnel responded to the structure fire due to a lightning strike at the Calvary Gospel Church on Berry Road in Waldorf.
Firefighters arrived on scene in minutes, reporting fire showing from the roof.
Crews stretched an attack line to the attic area, extinguished all fire, no extension, contained in steeple area. No injuries reported, the church was not occupied at the time of the incident. Command terminated at 3:10 P.M.
