Kathryn Leilani (Scott) Thomas, 65, of Darington, WA passed away on November 14, 2021 in Bellevue, WA surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 29, 1956 at Patuxent River Naval hospital in Lexington Park, MD to Eleanor Priscilla (Abell) Scott and the late John Michael Scott.

Leilani, known by Kathy on the east coast, was a lifelong educator. After graduating from Chopticon High School in 1974, she traveled west to attend The College of Idaho where she graduated summa cum laude. Following her graduation, she joined the Peace Corp and served in Paraguay, S.A. After her service, she began her lifelong career as an educator. She retired in 2021 as the Executive Director of the Concrete School District in Washington State.

Leilani enjoyed her mountain home. She was an avid gardener and crafter. She also enjoyed exploring genealogy and playing bridge.

In addition to her husband Cal, she is survived by her son Michael Wardwell (Caroline) of Darrington, WA; her daughter Hillary Anderson (Eric) of Columbus, OH; mother Priscilla Abell Scott of Valley Lee, MD; sister Karen Platt of Mountain Home, NC; her bother Michael Scott (Kelly) of California, MD, sister Priscilla Bromley (Michael) of Valley Lee, MD; grandchildren Ethan and Mackenzie Wardwell of Idaho. She is also survived may many nieces, nephews and cousins.
