She was born in Washington, DC on May 29, 1915, the daughter of the late Charles Bernard and Mary Agnes Hardester Sweeney.
Mrs. Wallis was of the Catholic Faith. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Avenue, MD, and a member of the friends of St. Clements Island Museum.
She is survived by one son, Thomas H. Bell and his wife Marlene of Colton?s Point, MD, four grandchildren, Victoria Andrews of St. Petersburg, FL, Margaret Campbell of Luray, VA, Patricia Pettit of Tarpon Springs, FL and Leonard Bell of Middletown, MD.
Six great grandchildren also survive. In addition to her parents, her husband Frederick Richard Wallis on April 9, 1990, a son Leonard Bell and a brother Charles Bernard Sweeny preceded her in death.
Friends may call on Friday August 22, 2003 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD. Prayers will be offered at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 10:30 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Avenue, MD. The Msgr. John Brady will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Wallis will be, James Campbell, Johnny Pierce, Raley Gass, Alan Norris, Al Lyon and Fisher White. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Robert Kopel, Carl Kopel, Lloyd Unsell, William Guy, Matthew Campbell, Lewis Holden and Warren Bell.
