Ralph (Eddie) Edwin Bond, Jr., 79, of Brandywine, MD passed away peacefully at his home on February 10, 2021. He was born on June 11, 1941 in Brentwood, MD to the late Ralph Edwin Bond, Sr. and Athula Sue (Tubekis) Bond.

A true hero, Eddie worked as a Prince George’s County Police Officer. He was honored to be able to serve and protect his community. Upon his retirement in 1983, Eddie worked for Coca-Cola and then spent his days working the land and growing vegetables he could share. He enjoyed a manicured lawn and enjoyed the sense of completion after a day spent doing yard work or plowing fields.

To know Eddie was to know a hard-working man with a heart of gold. He was loved by many and known for being the kind of man that would give you the shirt off his back. Eddie found peace in the great outdoors. He could be found dropping a line in the river, or crabbing on a sunny summer day. He also enjoyed breathing in the crisp air on a beautiful fall morning while he sat patiently waiting for a white-tail to cross his path.

Whether you knew him as Eddie, Dad, Granddad, or friend, you know a great man was lost. May you strive each day to remember his strong sense of community and make a difference toward others the way he would have wanted. His legacy is one of strength, kindness and courage and his memory will remain in the heart of his loved ones for generations.

Eddie is survived by his children, Ralph Bond, III (Donna) of Brandywine, MD and Jennifer Baggerly (Danny) of Murrells Inlet, SC; five (5) grandchildren, Ralph Bond, IV (Elizabeth), Amanda Gass (Ryan), Lauren Davis, Bryan Davis and Andrea Davis; and three (3) great-grandchildren, Savannah, Brooks and Sawyer. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Bond of Brandywine, MD. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ralph and Athula Bond and siblings, Carolyn Sue Rye, Steven Bond and Charlotte Bond.
