Born November 30, 1956 in Manhasset, New York, he was the son of Jacqueline Marie Brissette Wilkin of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and the late Wayne Wendell Wilkin. He spent the majority of his adult life working in the field of aviation, which he truly loved. During college he enrolled in the Reserve Officers Training Command and upon graduation received a commission in the US Air Force. He completed basic flight training in 1980 and stayed with the Pilot Instructor Training Command as an instructor pilot until 1984. He then received flight training in the C-5 Galaxy and flew this aircraft until his Honorable Discharge from the Air Force in 1987. He the went on to fly for Pan American Airways and worked at several engineering companies prior to taking a job with the US Government in 1998 as a landing gear engineering specialist for the C-5 System Program Office based in Warner Robins, Georgia. He then came to Patuxent River Naval Station in 2002 to work as a Systems Engineer for the US Navy?s C-40 program.
He was a member of St. John?s Catholic Church in Hollywood, MD. He loved astronomy, hiking, biking, badminton, music and best of all getting together with friends and family.
Survivors include his mother, Jacqueline Wilkin of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, his sister, Michele Wilkin of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and his brother, Douglas Wilkin of Lexington Park, MD.
