The Little Explorers series at Historic St. Maryโs City will resume for the 2012 season on March 7.ย Pre-schoolers and an adult companion are invited to explore various themes inspired by history or the local environment every other Wednesday morning through the spring and fall.ย ย The program is designed specifically for children ages 3-5 years.ย Activities may include story-telling, crafts, songs, and outdoor exploration.ย
The series will begin with Making Music, an exploration of different ways to make music using instruments familiar to the early residents of Maryland.ย The group will visit The Brick Chapel to hear how music resounds beneath the vaulted ceiling.ย ย Future gatherings focus on The Little Red Hen, Sailing, Merry Mice, The Circle of Holidays, and other fun topics.
The program runs from 10:00 a.m. โ 11:00 a.m.ย No reservation is required.ย Admission is $4 per child for non-members ($3 for Friends members) and accompanying adults are free.ย ย The fee includes full-day admission to the museum.ย On March 7, meet at the Visitor Center (18751 Hogaboom Lane, St. Maryโs City).ย Subsequent meetings will begin at the museumโs Shop at Farthingโs Ordinary (47414 Old State House Road).ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
