Maryland State Fire Marshall’s are investigating a house fire in St. Mary’s County that has left over $30,000.00 in damage.
Twenty-five firefighters from Hollywood, Leonardtown and Bay District responded to the 43700 block of St. John’s Road on June 30 around 12:30 a.m.
Crews arrived on the scene to discover fire in the living room of the one-story home with an addition.
Investigation revealed the occupants of the home returned home to find fire in the living room. The cause of the fire is accidental due to a malfunction within the living room near a large aquarium tank. The occupants of the home have been displaced and are being assisted by family and friends.
No injuries were reported.
