Stylist Stephanie Bennett, of Waldorf, won the opportunity to represent the Mid Atlantic region in Sport Clipsโ โThe Lookโ hairstyling competition with her version of a โFohawkโ.
โI wanted to create a style that fit the model and his ageโ, said Stephanie. Sport Clips stylists from across the country submitted photos of their most creative cuts for a chance to participate in the competition, which is held during the companyโs annual conference each spring. This yearโs conference will take place at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, April 24-27.
Five stylists from five regions of the U.S. (West, Midwest, Mid Atlantic, Southwest, and Texas) will be chosen by salon industry notables to compete in The Look. Bennett will go on to compete at the regional level to represent the Mid Atlantic states. If she wins, Bennett and her hair model, Huntingtown High School linebacker, Tyler Burroughs, will travel to Las Vegas to recreate her design in front of an estimated audience of over 1,300 Sport Clips employees, franchisees, and salon-industry professionals. โI am very proud of Stephanie to have won this competition with us being one of the newest stores in the Sport Clips organizationโ, said owner of Sport Clips Waldorf.
In addition to cash and other prizes, the overall competition winnerโs design will become a part of Sport Clipsโ training and will be represented on a poster that will be placed in Sport Clips locations nationally. โI think Tyler and I have a great chance to make it to the nationals to represent Sport Clips Waldorf at such a huge competitionโ, said Stephanie.
