Prince Frederick, MD ย – Somethingโ€™s brewing in Calvert County. During their Thursday, Aug. 27 meeting the Calvert County Liquor Board gave unanimous approval to granting Class D On Sale beer licenses to two local ventures.

Mullyโ€™s Brewery on Schooner Lane in the Calvert Industrial Park is currently open four days a week for tours, tasting and sales of their bottled products to go.
Cynthia Mullinkin confirmed the Prince Frederick business has a state brewery license. The county license would allow Mullyโ€™s to sell its beer for consumption on the premises.

Mullinkin told the board she has completed mandatory alcohol awareness training and that all employees will become TIPS and TAMS trained.

The opening of the area where beer for on premises consumption will occur is currently pending the issuance of a use and occupancy permit from the Calvert County Department of Community Planning and Building.

The operators of Perigeaux Vineyards and Winery in St. Leonard are in the process of establishing a brewery at their location on Mackall Road.

Perigeauxโ€™s Mark R. Flemming told the board the business hopes to open its brewery in early October but โ€œweโ€™ve got to do everything in sequence.โ€ A state brewery license must be obtained. The liquor board granted the Class D On Sale beer license pending the stateโ€™s issuance of a brewery license.

Like Mullyโ€™s, Perigeaux will only be able to sell its own product.

The liquor board also approved a Class B On Sale beer and wine license for Thai Mama Restaurant in Dunkirk. The restaurant on Southern Maryland Boulevard has already opened.ย  Co-owner Armeena Saejiw told the board she and her business partner Yuwart Javid have completed alcohol awareness training. Three other employees, who will be working in the kitchen, are not certified.

โ€œItโ€™s always good to have as many people certified as you can to be safe,โ€ board member Beth Swoap recommended.
