Annmarie Garden, the sculpture park and arts center located in Solomons kicked off a new exhibit Friday, July 24 called Proximity: Regional Discoveries.

The local artists featured have created a wide variety of works inspired by life in southern Md. The exhibit runs from July 25 through October 4, with normal hours of Tuesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.ย

The Garden’s 30-acre park and amenities is an affordable and cultural outing with a $3 admission. They offer a plethora of special events and programs that back up their mission “to nurture the human spirit and contribute to a healthy society.”

A day trip to the Garden, near the fine restaurants and sites of Solomons provides an opportunity for southern Md. art and nature lovers to be delighted without a far commute.

The opening reception in conjunction with Annmarie Garden’s Date Night offered what they call, “a fun and artsy event” for adults. From 6 to 9 p.m., couples and art enthusiasts enjoyed a sneak peak at the exhibit, a meeting with the Proximity artists, a wine tasting and live music.
